I fixed my own laptop

The display on my Eluktronics Mech 16 went dark, and the panel was cracked on top of it. So instead of shipping it off, I opened it up and fixed it myself.

The dark screen turned out to be the eDP cable, not the panel, swapped the cable and the picture came back. Then I replaced the cracked screen itself. Two parts, one afternoon.

Fixing your own hardware teaches you something software never does: what it’s like to work when there’s no undo button. Worth doing at least once. // end transmission
